Month of March has been busy busy busy busy. Originally we had booked our Fit with Jenny (end Feb). However the 2 COE biddings in March left us disappointed. And with her most recent phonecall on the last day of the 2nd COE bidding made me mad (she claimed that our car can only come in end June and that the car price is up by one K), I decided enough is enough. Even though her deal does not require us to pay deposit and that she is my cousin's fren, I do not wish to have the car-buying experience totally wrecked or ruined by her. And boy am I glad that we did not and do not have to pay her deposit, coz that means we can go to another agent without forfeitting any deposit! :D
So on Good Friday James and I went down to Kah Motor (KM) and we booked and confirmed our car. Had enough of parrallel importers, it is better to get from authorised dealers. And our Jazz will be coming in June/July, even though it is still a bit late, but at least you will not fear that they will increase the price or tell you that you need to pay this extra, that extra, etc. And KM has COE rebate at 15k, which means if COE exceeds 15k, KM will absorb. COE less than 15k, they will rebate us. A good deal yah? And this dealer is pretty straightforward with us (thanks to Sharon) and gave us an additional 1k off the price list. And with the loan discount of 1k, we got 2k off the actual price. Maybe this is one of their gimmicks, but I dun really care, the most important thing is I am happy with his service, and I walked out of KM that day feeling that I had bought my car!
Going by Jenny's calculation and the recent COE price, to buy from Jenny is not worthwhile at all. Her Fit price increased by 1K, so she is selling to us at $41.5K (w/o COE). With COE price (let's assume the next COE closes at 16k), buying a 2008 Fit from her would cost us $57.5k. And this price does not include all the other accessories that Kah Motor has thrown in.
