We got 2 queue numbers for 2 flat selections... Concurrently.. Hehe.. For the Bi Monthly walk-in selection on mature estates, and for the Punggol BTO (Damai Grove). Chances are we will take the Damai Grove BTO coz since my parents have given the go-ahead for us to stay with them after our wedding, and I dun wish to move out of my current room, we shall stick to Tampines for as long as we can. Hehe... And also with the BTO, we will have more time to play around with our finances, no hurry to take up renovation loans or hire purchases, and that would mean less debts.
And we have booked our vroom vroom earlier this week! With Siew Hua's dance student -Jenny. She is an authorized car distributor for Hyundai cars and also deals with parallel import cars. She gave us a very detailed explanation and did not require us to place any deposit of any sort, had our bank loan sorted out in 1 day, got us the company with the lowest insurance premium, and after that all we need to do is wait for the COE and bid at a price that we want, and after the confirmation of COE, we will then pay the 1st installment and 1st year insurance premium, register the car and car plate number, and that's it, we will be the proud owners of our vroom vroom! **And nope, we did not get Suzuki Swift which was our initial choice coz I absolutely loved that car**
Can't wait for the vroom vroom to come... But we may delay it to after April coz most probably we will be going to BKK during my birthday (so sad, last year went to Japan, this year can only settle for BKK). We dowan to collect the car for 2 weeks and leave it parked downstairs for one whole week (or risk having that someone borrow the car from us). So now the car's coming during my birthday (should be lah coz Jenny is very flexible with all these) and not his birthday!!! Yeah... So excited at this big step in getting our own car.. Even more excited at next week coz next week is the COE bidding!

Did I mention that I tried to get my Burberry Blue Label tote dry cleaned and ended up with a dirty bag? Well the dry cleaning service at Tampines Mall basement is really atrocious. On 19 or 20 Jan, I brought my blue label bag there and asked if they could dry clean my bag (so that it would be in time or CNY). The China woman at the counter replied that it was possible. So I paid $35 to get my bag dry-cleaned. And I was told that when my bag is ready, they would give me a ring to
go down and collect it.
I did not receive any calls, so the following weekend I went down to check if my bag is ready. She took out my bag from another plastic bag, and told me it has been done. Upon checking the bag, I realised that the bag is still extremely dirty, and the insides of the bag were not washed. I got very angry and I screamed at her and told her off. The bag was obviously not cleaned and she told me it has been cleaned??? There was still a strand of hair in my bag and all the dust as well. I demanded a refund which she told me is not possible. So James asked her for her manager or person in-charge. She told us that he is out of town. So she said out of good will, she will ask the boss to give us a call and ask the boss to clean the bag for us instead. All sorts of excuses that she could think of la, IMO. We were making a racket there and due to the weekend, there was a whole queue of people waiting to buy 4D and were all looking at the scene that we had made. I was absolutely pissed off and upset, but nvm, shall give them another chance to wash my
bag properly.
So the Saturday after I came back from Kuching I went down to collect my bag. Guess wad. It is still as dirty as ever. And that same bloody China woman told me that her boss say cannot clean, so refund us our money. Damn it. So I took back my dirty bag and my $35. I tried the whole of Tampines to find a shop that can clean my bag but no laundry shop took it coz the people have all gone back to Malaysia for the CNY holidays. And I have no nice and clean bag to carry for the coming CNY.
I ended up at home feeling sucky and lousy. In the end, James allowed me to buy another bag. I had wanted to get the Gucci tote that I had been eyeing for quite some time, but I found a Coach bag that I liked even better. So tada, here is my pink Coach tote... And I am a happy girl again!!!

My next buy shall be the french purse of the same series!!!

CNY Day 4
Daddy and Mummy had planned to visit Daddy's elder sisters on this day. Daddy had tried to contact her second elder sister since Chu Yi to no avail. So he called up the son-in-law and found out that my Er Gu was hospitalised on the eve of CNY. So we proceeded to CGH to visit Er Gu. What a way for her to spend her New Year... As her son-in-law did not exactly explain to my dad what had happened to Er Gu, I tried to find out from the nurse. Her kidneys have failed, which resulted in water retention, and she will need dialysis. Daddy was very upset, and soon after we arrived, Da Gu reached. It is not a very common sight to see my Da Gu and Er Gu and my Dad at the same place coz we are not exactly close to Daddy's side of relatives. And seeing these 3 siblings together was rather weird to me coz they had almost the exact face, and James said that if I were to stand next to my Dad, it would be 4 similar faces together...
Anyway James and I went to Bugis OG with Mummy after that. Mummy wanted to get some clothes for Vicky's wedding in April. So off we went to Bugis OG and Mummy bought a blouse that will only be ready for collection 2 weeks later. It's been ages since I went shopping in heels that are 3 inches high!!! My legs were almost giving way by the time we finished shopping.
And yeaps, that was the end of the 4 days of CNY holidays...

CNY Day 3
Finally had a chance to sleep in!!! Feeling so tired after lacking so many nights of sleep, and finally had a little bit of chance to restore that bit of energy. Went to visit James' Grandma who is staying at a hospice. It is really upsetting to see all the old people there, staring at the blank wall or out of the windows, with nothing to do everyday. But I believe all their families have a sad story to share, if not why would anyone want to let their own parent or grandparent stay in a hospice? Every time I leave the hospice, I will always feel so depressed and sometimes I would even tear. This year it was worse, I was tremendously upset coz the visit had made me miss my late Grandmother a lot more than ever.
Anyway James and I left the hospice with a heavy heart, and we went to Shanel's place for a short visit. Gambling was on the cards again, wad else to do during the CNY? Originally I won, not much la... But after Number 2 reached with her FUTURE husband, and her FUTURE husband decided to be the banker, we all lost.
Why did we lose? Coz he kena one 'ban ban' (double ace), and he basically screamed with joy and nearly bounced to the door. So that round he won 3 times our bet which was quite a sizeable amount.
Prior to that, there was a round that James kena 'ban luck', and my FUTURE brother-in-law got an Ace and a 5, so he can decide to nullify that round, and James was not paid the money for his 'ban luck'. And after that, he kept on harping on it, machaim gloating on James' 'misfortune', or that James no luck to win 'ban luck'. And we are expecting him to laugh at my Darling on this '15 and ban luck' thing for another 3 months or even longer...
And ya, ALL of us lost, lest for HIM!!!

CNY Day 2
Woke up at 10 am by Mummy. Went for brunch at Tampines Mart and proceed to Aunt's place at Bishan. Spent the whole afternoon there and be bombarded with questions about our wedding in December. Nothing much eventful for the day and James and I proceeded to Hazel's place at night where we had dinner and gambled a little bit.

CNY Day 1
Woke up feeling really tired, and not at all feeling a bit of CNY mood. Went to Katong to offer joss sticks to my late Grandmother, and I tried really hard not to tear on the first day of the CNY. It's really such a different CNY without Grandma around. Every year this day, all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would gather at Katong and wish my Grandmother nothing but the best. And it was always this day that you see all the cousins decked in their prettiest, the children at their cutest, and my Grandmother at her happiest. This year at Katong, it was simply quiet. There was nobody, except for 2 cousins and my Aunt, and my family (minus Number 2). My uncle and his wife had gone overseas since he cant celebrate CNY, so his house was practically empty, less for a maid.
Left Katong to go to James' house to visit his mother and Grandpa. Stayed for only about 3 hours before my youngest cousin drove us back home and we had a round of mahjong. His luck was pretty good and I think it was coz that was his first time playing at my house. And he is the first person not within the Ang family to play mahjong at my home!!!! Just realised that as I pen this entry down.
Mummy and Daddy went out ard 8 pm to receive the God of Wealth at Sembawang. Hopefully with the God of Wealth in our house, we will heng heng all the way... Huat ah!!
Went to St James with James and his friends, of which 2 of the guys will be his 'brothers' at our wedding. We partied away Chu Yi and welcomed Chu Er! Reached home at 6 am, only enough for a short nap.

Eve of CNY
Half a day of work and to head home to help Mummy to prepare for the night's sumptuous dinner. At 1330hrs, the whole dept kena called into meeting room, and kena a tongue lashing. A super not nice way to end the last day of work before a brand new year starts. And wad is the tongue lashing session all about? Punctuality, surfing of net, absence from work. Punctuality is targetted at the oily girl. Surfing of net and absence from work is targetted at me and Sharon. Anyway tried to cheer myself up and went home, to complain to my mum.
Helped Mum to prepare dinner and went for an express mani and pedi and got to know that Number 2 (second sister) will not be coming home for reunion dinner, she will be heading to her FUTURE husband's place for dinner first then come over for second round. Our dinner always starts around 7pm, and will end ard 8 to 9pm. And her FUTURE husband's side always start dinner late, ard 8 to 9 pm. So isn't it more sensible to have dinner over at her own Mummy's home before they proceed over to the guy's side for dinner?
They should have said earlier that they have dinner on CNY eve at the guy's place, then Mummy would have arranged to have dinner one day earlier or on the weekend, so that it is a really reunion dinner. Previously with her ex-husband, we always had dinner one day earlier so that the married couple wun get caught in between the 2 families, and it was a perfectly fine arrangement. And it was only after she divorced that we started having reunion dinner on the eve of CNY. Number 1's in-laws are pretty flexible too, they always have it the weekend before the CNY, so there was no issues. Anyway Mummy is pissed off, and feels that she can't wait to be married into their family. Which I personally also feel so.
Anyway dinner ended around 9 pm, and they started with the round of mahjong. Ended quite late, and poor little Tingting was so tired she slept in my bed and had to be carried home at 1 am. James went home to sleep coz it's the New Year. And I slept at 3 am, sleeping alone on the queen sized bed made me feel weird, not used to sleeping alone... Hehehe..

Took 3 days leave to attend my future elder brother-in-law's wedding in Kuching, Sarawak (East Malaysia)... His elder sister-in-law is a Malaysian, which explains the wedding dinner in Kuching and they held a buffet dinner in Singapore last week. First trip overseas with his whole family (minus his eldest sister and family)... I was worried for days before the departure. People may not believe me but it's the fact that I do not really spend a lot of time with his family even though we have been together for more than 8 years.
So on day one, we took a flight from Senai airport to KCH. Ya, the brother arranged for us to travel all the way to that JHB airport to take a budget flight to KCH. But cant complain coz he is paying for everything, including accomodation in KCH. Even though accomodation and flight booked way in advance, no proper planning was done in advance, and the most attrocious part was everything had to be asked before he informed us.
Day 2 was the wedding day with the customary, serving of tea to elders, etc, and then followed by a 8 course dinner in the hotel that we were staying in (Holiday Inn Kuching).
Day 3 was home sweet home for me, James and my future little brother-in-law. His mum and Grandpa stayed one more day and will leave on Saturday with the newly wed couple.
Oh well, anyway through this trip I discovered a lot of things about his Grandpa whom I have grown to like a lot a lot. His Grandpa has always been that type who keeps to himself and seldom talks, but after spending 3 days with him, I find that he is really a very steady person, so independant and knowledgeable, absolutely clear-minded and well aware of the surroundings...
And also, I have come to the conclusion and decision that I CANNOT stay with his mum after marriage or in future. Hahaha... And boy am I glad I will be staying with my parents until my flat is ready!

We got 2 queue numbers for 2 flat selections... Concurrently.. Hehe.. For the Bi Monthly walk-in selection on mature estates, and for the Punggol BTO (Damai Grove).
