Littlest Sister Getting Hitched!
Written on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 | back to top

My littlest sister is going to get married! She had announced to Mummy few months back when she had just started dating this guy. And yes, so now she is busy preparing for her wedding with a guy she had dated for about half a year. Initially was a bit taken aback by the suddeness, but am very happy for my little sister, to have someone to take care of her and love her throughout their journey together.

On the other hand, am worried. Worried for her that she is taking things too fast and furious, worried that they wun have enough money, worried that they think its going to be just a very fun event and painting a very nice and beautiful picture without taking into considerations many many many factors.

Yesterday she told me that she wants to get married on Dec 6th or Dec 13th this year. I told her very bluntly that I am not comfortable with her getting hitched on Dec 6th, afterall just last year Dec 5th, James and I started our new journey. Also Jan is still not too late to tie the knot since CNY is in mid Feb this year.

Then today she came home and announced she is getting married on Dec 5th! I am very upset. There are so many dates in Dec and she had to choose my wedding date. Anyway Mummy told her that early Dec Baby Isabelle will still be very young, its not going to be very convenient to bring Isabelle to the wedding, Isabelle wun be able to sleep and I wun be able to feed Isabelle properly. Its going to be very chaotic and Isabelle will not even be 2 months old at that point of time, how can I allow her to come into contact with a whole ballroom of people?!!! I hope she is not going to feel that Mummy only thinks for me and not for her, coz she always tends to think on the negative side. And I definitely hope that she can take into consideration about my discomfort and my concerns for Isabelle, this is my baby that I would like to protect very much. Moreover I feel that Jan is a better time for them since they will have one more month to plan and save, it definitely will not be as rushed as December. Anyway the decision still lies with them and the least that I can do is to give my only little sister my blessings.

One whole week of absence from work has made me realise some things. Many pple are aware that I am absent from work, but who actually made the effort to ask after me? SMS or msn? They know who they are, those who asked and those who did not ask. I am disappointed in 2 particular persons especially. I am very sure that these 2 ladies are well aware that I am not feeling well, but they made no efforts to ask after me. The previous time when I was really down emotionally, they also did not make any effort to contact me. Makes me feel that I have been taken for granted.

When they want to talk about their stuffs, they come to me. Happened to me once that she came to me on the pretext of congratulating me on my pregnancy, but after the congratulatory, she started talking about her stuffs. Not even asking me how many months / weeks I am in now, how I am coping etc. She only went on and on about her own stuffs. Felt to me that she was just using my pregnancy news to start a conversation when all she wants is to talk about is her own things. When she needs a listening ear or advices, if she tells me about it, so far I do not feel that I have done her any injustice. I have always listened patiently and offered sensible advices. But other than that, she doesn't come to me to ask about how I am doing at all. Am very disappointed.

I feel that the other lady is also taking me for granted. She only comes to me when she needs some favours from me, or she needs me in some ways or others. No longer like last time when we will just talk rubbish and silly stuffs. Lately she has just withdrawn herself from me almost completely. When stuffs happen to me (like theses 2 times when I wasn't in the best of health), she will just disappear and feign ignorance about it. Truth is, I know she cannot possilby be totally ignorant about it. NO WAY. She will disappear and then after I am ok and back to work, she will appear and ask me wad happened to me. Sometimes all it takes is a simple SMS - How are you? Heard you are not feeling well, take care okie. All it takes is a punch of a few words, is it that difficult?

Maybe I am expecting too much? Am I? Yeah, maybe is my own fault.
Getting Ready for BB Isabelle
Written on Monday, June 15, 2009 | back to top

Over the weekend, we cleared out the stuffs in and on the table in my room. Packed them in boxes for storage at Number 1's place until Damai Grove is ready. This is to make way for Isabelle's clothes, toys, books, etc. Initially wanted to clear the table away as well, but that would mean I need to get another table to put my TV and radio, and another chest of drawers to keep Isabelle's stuffs. After thinking it through, Isabelle's baby cot will be placed next to our bed, and then we will use the table to put the TV, steriliser, etc so that I would not have to get out of my room when I need to make milk for Isabelle in future. Under the table will be the chest of drawers for her clothes and stuffs.

We took the baby cot from Number 1, so all we need to buy is a good mattress and the mattress covers and the bumpers ard the baby cot. Not to forget the car seat and stroller. Still have been deliberating over which brand and which model to buy. Money's running out! We will also get the baby rocker (or bouncer) and bathtub from Number 1, and lotsa pretty baby clothes and nappies. But these will come at a later stage, when is nearer to my EDD. Am running out of space to keep the baby stuffs even though we've just cleared out 7 boxes of stuffs from my room. Yes, that is how packed the room is.

I have bought quite a bit of stuffs for Isabelle already, and guess I should be stopping soon? But see how it goes, its never enough ya, who can resist all the pretty baby clothes? Certainly not me!
On Hospitalisation Leave
Written on | back to top

Am on one whole week of hospitalisation leave. It started with a slight pain ard the pubic bone on Thursday. Then it got worse on Friday, to the extent that I had to walk with a hunch, and moved really slowly, couldnt get out of bed or the chair without being immobilised for 20 seconds before I could walk. Saturday it hurt so much that I nearly cried, regretted not going to see Dr Chen on Saturday. Sunday was still bearable, but this morning was so bad that I realised I had better move my butt and make an appt to see Dr Chen.

Turned out that I tore my ligament, and if it doesn't heal, or if I dun let it heal, chances are that I will carry this injury till Isabelle is out from my tummy. That means another 18 weeks of constant pain on top of delivery pain as the finale. And so, I am going to be the obedient little girl and stay at home for the whole of this week. No physical shopping but nobody is stopping me from doing online shopping! Wahahahaha

Actually I did not expect it to be so serious, was thinking maybe its just muscle pull or sthg, but muscle pull at the pubic bone? That is crazy, who would have muscle pull at the bone.. Anyway its not my bone that is hurting, its the ligament there, and it felt as though its my bone.. I just hope that the ligament will heal properly, I do not wish to be suffering from this constant pain for the next 18 weeks...
