Last Friday I was on half day leave, to accompany my Mummy to the SNEC (Singapore National Eye Centre) for her eye checkup. She is at risk of getting glaucoma, and thus these SNEC pple are trying to get Mummy to participate in their research whereby she will receive treatment for one eye for free, and they will observe her for 5 years, if nothing happens during these 5 years, they will discharge her from the research. Sounds crap right. Anyway this was what they told us 2 years ago when she was referred to SNEC by Dr Tan (our GP) for some eyesight problem. Wasted abt an hour over there, then I brought Mummy to Vivo for some little shopping.
At night I went to the hospital again, this time to CGH. And the reason? My dear little sister had a bone stuck in her throat. She told us it was chicken bone. Chicken bone?!?!?! Yes, she said it's chicken bone. She tried to dig out the bone, ended up scratching her throat, and she ended up spitting out blood. And the bone is still stuck. Brought her to A&E, took an X-Ray and the X-Ray did not show any foreign bones stuck in her throat at all. Waited for the ENT (Ear Nose Throat) doctor for almost an hour to do a further check on her. A fish bone that was about 3 cm long was stuck in her tonsils. She did not eat fish at all, so where did the fish bone come from? Otah! Next time better chew your food properly before swallowing hor!
