I have been busy busy busy preparing for our Dec big day.

Finally confirmed our JP (Justice of Peace) for our solemnization. Is an aunt of Darling's friend's wife. After searching high and low for all the JPs and licenced solemnizers, we still ended up confirming her. But the problem is that her Mandarin cannot make it! Guess we just have to make do with it, after all we have asked about 8 JPs and they are all unavailable to marry us... So on Tuesday I went online to ROM webbie and filed a notice of marriage. Wow, I am really getting married leh!!! I sound so silly but I dun care. Heehee...

We selected our photos yesterday, our package includes 30 photos for the album. Total of about 200 photos, we went through 3 rounds of selection and manged to select 30! I felt a sense of achievement coz we have been telling ourselves "NO TOP UPS!". Round 1, shortlisted 44 photos. Round 2, down to 34. Round 3, 30! BUT 30 photos in the album will end up looking so sparse, one photo one page. So ugly lo.. We ended up with 41 photos!!! Top up a bit la, most important is that we like the photos that we have chosen... Heehee.. Next selection will be the layout, but only in Nov! Damn long, I can't wait to get back my photos.

The weekend we went buying, noticed it's not 'went shopping' cos we were there to buy essentials, not to shop. Winter Wear was having sales, 10% off. So off we went to MacPherson. Total damage - $490.
Bought 2 pairs of leather gloves,
1 pair of wollen gloves
4 pairs of winter socks
3 hats (I bought 2 and Darling bought 1, so now I have 2 hats and 1 cap to wear!)
4 sets of Long John (2 each)
Knee Warmer / Protector (1 long and 1 short)
2 scarves (1 each)
1 Pack of 'Warmer'

Then we went to scout for our bed. We had always wanted to buy a posterbed, that kind with beams at the 4 corners type. Courts sell posterbeds at less than $500 but they only carry them in metal frames which I dislike. Too unstable. IMO, beds should be solid, not that kind that has feeble stands and will shake and shake. Wooden poster beds cost around $2k (or even more). Totally busted our budget, especially when we only need the bed for these 2-3 years only, dun intend to move the bed over to our new house. So we went Kaki Bukit (Ubi) area to look around. We either have to lower our expectation (i.e. give up the dream of buying a poster bed for now) or increase our budget. So the former it was. No more poster bed for us for the time being le. We managed to get an acceptable looking bed frame that is of reasonable price range. Delivery will be done on 25th Oct (Sat). So whilst we wait for the arrival of our bed, we need to re-furnish our room! October's going to be a busy month!

Whoever said that getting married is an easy affair is LYING! Hahaha... Yes, it's easy if you're talking about just paying $25 and register at the ROM. It's not easy and cheap if you intend to do everything - i.e. ROM, bridal, customary, banquet, house and honeymoon. It's money money and more money!
